This projects goal was to build a create and series of components and templates the company could use to help have a consistent experience across their global websites after noticing huge discrepancies in how the company and products were being represented across dozens of different countries and languages.
These templates needed to be “plug and play” ready for each countries development teams, accommodate a large number of different languages, and still allow for some individuality all while being compatible with the new design system that had just been created for the main US based site. My design partner and I worked together to conduct a series of stakeholder interviews locally, and through calls with international representatives to capture all of the key considerations for the components. Leveraging that information, we created a very long series of iterations on different components and tools that combined our learnings and allowed them to work across multiple languages.
Communication and clarity of intent were the biggest factors on this project and needed to be considered every step of the way. Once my team and I had the proper flows and architecture of page templates and components, we worked with their development team here in the us, and a number of different BA’s to create an online portal that allowed for clear instruction of usage, and allowed for direct access to code and assets.
